How to Register for Online Learning

If you are a Kentucky Adult Education student:

  1. Click on "Student Area" and then "Learn Online".
  2. Choose your course:
    • To study for your GED, choose "PL 100 PLATO"
    • To study for college entrance exams like COMPASS or ACT, choose "PL 100 PLATO"
    • To prepare for the WorkKeys exam or improve your job skills, choose "WIN100 WIN Career Solutions"
    • To work toward a Kentucky Employability Certificate, choose "WIN100 WIN Career Solutions"
    • To work toward the Kentucky Manufacturing Skills Standards exam, choose "PL 1000 PLATO"
    • To improve your ability to speak and understand the English language, contact an adult education center to enroll in Rosetta Stone. Click this link to find a center near you: http://www.kyvae.org/learner/local_center.asp.
  3. Click on "Add selected courses to my EduCart." under the "More Info" box.
  4. Click on "Continue" and then "Continue to the New Learner Course Request Form."
  5. If a "Security Alert" screen pops up, click "yes."
  6. The registration form will appear. Follow the directions and fill in the information. Starred items are required fields. Note: If you put in a valid e-mail address, KYVAE will be able to e-mail important information to you, for example, your password if you forget it.
  7. Click on submit application.
  8. Once you attend an orientation session with your adult education provider, you will be ready to study online.

You will get an e-mail in just a few minutes confirming you are enrolled. You will receive a username and password after you attend your adult education orientation session. Your username will be the first initial of your first name + your last name + the last four digits of what you entered as your social security number. Your password will be the last four digits of your social security number, but you will be asked to change this the first time you log in.
